Welcome to my blog!

For my very first post, I thought I would tell about how I became a wedding coordinator.

Growing up, I loved organizing school events: dances, proms, fundraisers ... all that good stuff. It was always so much fun. I love weddings, and really didn't consider them as a career until the end of 2008, when I went to ten of my friends' weddings, and wondered "Wouldn't it be great if I could work in the wedding industry and be surrounded by them all the time?!"

It was early in 2009 when I put up an ad on Craigslist volunteering my time to assist a wedding planner in order to learn about the industry and what it takes. An actual bride emailed me, needing a day of coordinator for her April wedding. I did all my research about what a day of coordinator does, wrote up a proposal and contract, and she hired me on the spot, knowing I had no experience whatsoever. From then on, I continued meeting with clients, reading a whole bunch of wedding magazines, and here I am today, in my second year as a wedding coordinator.

I love working in weddings. They are always so beautiful and happy, and it never gets old for me. Can't believe I didn't think about this earlier!
