A Simply Divine Wedding!

Planning one wedding is stressful enough, but planning two?!... forget about it! I'm surprised Divine and Tuan-Anh didn't fall down after their first beautiful beach wedding in Southern California! I worked with Divine and Tuan-Anh on their more casual, summer Bay Area wedding, and boy was it fun! A buffet with a huge variety of food, delicious cake that included taro root flavor, and guests doing the limbo (some were really flexible!).

I met Divine through her sister Ann, who I went to college with. I am so happy I got to work with them, such a great couple, easy going and fun! The day could not have been more divine.

Full of Culture & Tradition

This past June, I had the pleasure of working with Christine and Richard. What impressed me the most was the amount of Chinese culture and tradition that was embedded into their day. Nowadays, a lot of traditions are forgotten, but it was something that was very important to Christine and Richard. They started the day with the Chinese tea ceremony with all their family members at the Chinese Historical Society where many red envelopes were passed. Even the tea was prepared in the traditional way. Christine was beautiful in a stunning red Chinese dress. The ceremony took place at the San Mateo Japanese Tea garden; simply beautiful and so peaceful. A traditional guzheng musician welcomed the guests with her musings, and the bridal party glided in with beautiful parasols. Next followed a delicious nine-course Chinese banquet, bamboo favors, and peacock feathered centerpieces. Dessert was a traditional French croquembouche, perhaps one of the only things in their wedding that was not Chinese.

For their honeymoon, Christine and Richard traveled to China for an extended stay to trace back their ancestry. If that is not dedication to the Chinese culture, I don't know what is! A wonderful wedding, and such a great couple to work with!
